The territorial police in Entebbe Division have launched investigations into a tragic double murder and suspected aggravated robbery that occurred at the residence of Mutaaga David and his wife, Mutaaga Deborah Florence, in Lugonjo Nakiwogo Cell, Entebbe Municipality, Wakiso District.

In a statement released on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson ASP Luke Owoyesigyire confirmed the incident and revealed that the couple, aged 69 and 62 respectively, were found dead with multiple stab wounds.

“On 6th July 2025, police received information from a worker attached to the household reporting the suspected attack. A team of officers immediately responded to the scene,” Owoyesigyire stated.

“Upon arrival, two bodies were discovered and later identified as Mutaaga David and his wife, Deborah Florence. Preliminary examination revealed that both victims had sustained fatal stab wounds.”

Police say crime scene documentation and evidence collection were conducted and several exhibits of evidential value have been recovered for forensic analysis.

The bodies were transported to the City Mortuary Mulago for postmortem.

While the motive remains unclear, the authorities believe the incident may be linked to aggravated robbery.

“The motive behind this heinous crime is still under investigation and will be communicated in due course. Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the suspect(s),” Owoyesigyire noted.

He condemned the killing and reassured the public that detectives are committed to ensuring the perpetrators are brought to justice.

Further updates will be provided as investigations progress.
