Police has announced a comprehensive traffic management plan to guide motorists during the ongoing National Resistance Movement (NRM) National Delegates Conference at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds.
The conference, which started on August 18 and will end on August 28, 2025, has attracted delegates from across the country, significantly affecting normal traffic flow around Kololo.
Addressing the press during the weekly security briefing at Police Headquarters in Naguru on Monday, August 25th, 2025, Traffic Police spokesperson Michael Kananura outlined the traffic and parking arrangements.
“To ensure smooth traffic flow and enhance security, the following routing, diversions and parking arrangements have been put in place,” he said.
The main access route to Kololo Ceremonial Grounds will be through Sezibwa Golf Course–Fairway. Traffic will also flow normally on John Babiha Road at Acacia Avenue, Jinja Road, and Acacia Avenue up to Golf Course.
However, some roads will remain restricted to the public and accessible only to VVIPs. Traffic from Lugogo will not be allowed to use Lower and Upper Kololo Terrace, with motorists advised to divert through Archer Road to connect to Jinja Road.
In addition, Wampewo Avenue will be closed at Housing Finance Bank and at the Kololo traffic lights. Parking for VVIPs will be accessed through the Eastern Gate via Wampewo Avenue, with vehicles allowed to park inside Kololo Ceremonial Grounds, while delegates will be required to park at City High School and Hotel Africana.
Kananura urged participants and the public to comply with the guidelines.
“We urge you to exercise patience and discipline to ensure a successful and peaceful event. Adhere strictly to parking designations and route diversions,” Kananura stated.
Motorists are advised to plan their journeys in advance to avoid inconveniences.
