The police authority has dismissed from the force an errant driver who was recently caught loading and transporting some 80 bags of charcoal along the Nakapiripirit-Moroto highway.

The driver, identified as Corporal Jude Walukayo, attached to the Elgon region in Mbale, was caught loading charcoal in Nakapiripirit district on July 3rd, 2023, into the police Lorry truck registration number UP 9639.

SCP Fred Enanga, the police spokesperson, said the driver was immediately charged with scandalous behavior and dismissed from the Force for dealing with forestry products.

“He was charged to court, after dismissal, with three other charcoal dealers, including Isaiah Okiror, Peter Mugabi, and David Mubogi Luke, for the illegal possession and dealing in forestry products,’’ said SCP Enanga.

The operations against charcoal dealings in Karamoja are ongoing following the executive Directive from H.E. the President. The suspects were remanded to Namalu Prison,.
