Police in Bugiri are investigating circumstances under which unidentified thugs raided the Nandere Health II drug store and stole drugs worth millions that were recently given to the health facility.

This incident happened on June 5, 2024, at night, and the security guard of the health facility was arrested to aid in the investigations.

In an interview, Yasin Mwase, the administrator of Nandere Health Centre II, said that the security guard who was guarding the health facility was arrested for suspected collaboration with the thugs.

Mwase also added that the health centre had recently been given a big batch of different drugs by National Medical Stores, and it was unpacked and still in boxes.

’’This is a huge blow to the health centre and a big setback to the health facility, and it also seems like the thugs knew we had just received the drugs,’’ Mwase revealed.

According to Mwase, over 100 boxes of Amoxil, Coartem for both adults and kids, and many others were stolen.
