The Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu are organizing a fundraising drive in preparation to welcome their King, Charles Wesley Mumbere Iremangoma. The drive is slated to take place at Rwenzori Square in Town Centre Cell, Kasese Municipality on October 4, 2023.

According to Dr. Nathaniel Walemba Mumbere, the Organizing Committee Chairperson, the money raised will be used to buy a house and a car for the King.

“We are actually looking for nine billion shillings which includes the cost of the property and the renovation of the property,” he said.

Walemba said that the structure belonging to late General James Kazini, located in Base Camp Upper Cell, Base Camp Ward in Kasese Municipality that used to house Sliver Springs Hotel has already been identified.

He added that some of the money collected will also be used to facilitate the welcome function of the King and the coronation function anniversary scheduled for October 19, 2023, at Golf Course in Kasese.

During the Launch, various organizing committees will be commissioned and given receipt books that will be used in fund collection, according to Walemba.

Preliminary information indicates that, the fundraising activity will be rolled out to districts such as Bunyangabu, Ntoroko, Bundibugyo, Kabarole and Fort portal City.
