Nyege Nyege Festival Makes a Comeback with 9th Edition to Happen in Jinja

The 9th Edition of the Nyege Nyege Festival 2024, one of Africa’s most popular music and arts festivals, is back and is set to take place at the source of the Nile in Jinja, Eastern Uganda, from November 14–17, 2024. It will combine highlighting Uganda’s natural beauty with a rich curtain of cultures.

This year’s edition will be celebrated under the pan-African diversity theme, Afrogalactic Carnival, showcasing the rich cultural diversity of Africa and, as usual, drawing revelers from East Africa and across the world.

According to the festival organizers, there will be performances from traditional and contemporary artists from Uganda and beyond.

Fun lovers are expected to part with UGX 200.000 East Africans, $185 (approximately UGX 700.000) Non East Africans (early bird), UGX 150. 000 East Africans, and $125 (approximately UGX 475.000) Non East Africans for die-hards, and UGX 250.000 East Africans and $ 200 (approximately UGX 760.000) Non East Africans for the pre-sale tickets.

The international music and arts festival that is considered Africa’s most adventurous festival has been documenting and promoting Uganda’s traditional musical heritage since 2015.
