The National Unity Platform (NUP) party has, on November 18, 2024, celebrated mass to commemorate fallen comrades who died during the 2020 presidential campaigns in the month of November.

While addressing the party supporters, the NUP party president, Robert Kyagulanyi, said that as a party they will continue fighting for what their comrades died for and also will support the families of the fallen comrades and those still in prison.

“It’s been four years since our comrades were killed by the Museveni regime, and today we want to remember them, and this is a reminder to all of us to keep in the struggle and continue fighting for what our colleagues died for,” Kyagulanyi said.

While leading mass at the party headquarters in Makerere-Kavule Parish, priest of Mulago Father Angello Okwairoth said that praying for the departed is a good cause because it helps the souls of those in purgatory to go to heaven and also comforts the relatives of the deceased.

“The dead are not dead; due to some reasons, we have an obligation to honor them, and it is good that, as a party, you have decided to honor them by mass, and I also pray that you continue praying and supporting their families. Don’t turn your back on these family members,” Father Okwairoth said.
