Buwembo was arrested alongside Sharif Kawooya and Nasser Katende, all residents of Busega in Rubaga division.

Buwembo who had organized a press conference at the Social Justice Center, was yet to address the media before he was intercepted by police and bundled into a police van and taken to Nateete police post, where he is still being held awaiting to appear in Court.

When talking to our reporter before being taken to the cells, Buwembo said that he wanted to address the media on mainly two issues related to corruption and freeing all political prisoners.

“These are the same things I wanted to talk about and the impunity of this government won’t allow me to air out these grievances,” Buwembo said.

Buwembo and the two co-accused are likely to appear in court on Monday morning, September 25, 2023, for their hearing.
