NPC to Plant 10,000 Trees in Arua to Celebrate World Population Day

The National Population Council (NPC) is set to plant 10,000 tree seedlings in Arua district as an integration into environmental conservation activities ahead of 2024 World Population Day.

NPC Executive Director, Jotham Musinguzi, said they will work in collaboration with the Arua City government, development partners, and local refugee associations to create a lasting impact on the lives of the people of Arua and contribute to a greener future for Uganda.

“This tree planting campaign is a testament to our commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable development,” Musinguzi said.

This campaign aims to raise awareness about various critical population issues, including family planning, gender equality, poverty, maternal health, and human rights.

Today, July 11, 2024, Uganda joins the rest of the world to commemorate World Population Day under the theme “celebrating the past, planning for the future, and meeting the needs of all.
