A bus owned by Nile Star Company with registration number UBF 003Y has caught fire on its way to Kampala from Arua City, on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.
ASP Ongom David Mudong, the Regional Police Spokesperson of Aswa-Gulu, confirmed the development in a statement made on February 14, 2024.
“A bus owned by Nile Star Bus Company, Reg. No. UBF 003Y, caught fire this morning, at Latoro along the Pakwach-Karuma highway in Nwoya District while en route to Kampala,” Mudong said.
He added that the passengers survived as they managed to safely evacuate.
According to Mudong, the bus burned to ashes along with properties belonging to passengers worth millions, adding that an investigation into the cause of the fire has been launched.
