Honorable Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda, Member of Parliament for Kiira Municipality and the Spokesperson of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has accused President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni of dictatorship and using the taxpayers’ money to ‘fish the already fished fish’ from FDC party.

He revealed that President Museveni is advancing in crushing the opposition in Uganda by luring notable leaders from different opposition political parties to serve him so as to gain political capital.

Adding that, Nathan Nandala Mafabi, the Secretary General of FDC and Engineer Patrick Amuriate, the current President of the party received billions of money from President Museveni as transport to take the party to State House.

Ssemujju as a convener made accusations during the National Consultative Meeting held on Monday, July 17, 2023, at Nsambya Sharing Hall in Kampala under the theme “Redirecting FDC party to its core Mission.”

In the meeting attended by key leaders of the party such as Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, Doreen Nyanjura, Francis Mwijukye, and Mubarak Munyagwa, among other Members of Parliament on the FDC ticket, Ssemujju vowed never to be carried by Mafabi and Amuriat to State House.

“Museveni has already packed in his basket Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) and Democratic Party (DP), and now he wants NUP and FDC to follow the dual. Please I cannot go into that basket,” Semujju said.

He also urged different leaders of the party who attended the meeting to stand boldly and refuse the dictatorship and deception sowed by Mafabi and Amuriat in FDC, stating that even the forthcoming delegates conference in November in which new FDC leadership will be determined is meaningless since Mafabi and Amuriat have already installed themselves in top positions of the party.

“And in November, your role will be to formally reinstall Amuriat as the President and Nandala Mafabi as the Secretary General who will later carry FDC and hand it over to President Museveni in State House, such that they have a friendly match with Museveni in the 2026 Presidential elections,” Ssemujju noted.

According to Ssemujju, President Museveni’s wish of deleting opposition by 2021 will have been achieved.

However, Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago appealed to the attendees and members of NEC to attend the Delegates Conference scheduled for November 28, 2023, to see who will be telling the lies and truth.

According to Lukwago, that day will be a day to cut off the cancer that is killing the party.

“Sharpen your tools on that day to cut off cancer that has eaten most of the FDC National Executive Council members because the solution is no longer in NEC and it cannot cure cancer in our party at hand,” Lukwago said.

Emmanuel Ongiertho, the former Jonam County-Nebbi MP said that, Mafabi and Amuriat have prepared Ugx three million for each NEC member who will attend the delegates Conference in November to influence decision-making in their favor.

This comes at a time when the blue camp is on fire due to internal conflicts created by misunderstandings between Nandala Mafabi, Patrick Amuriat, Ssemujju Nganda, and Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago who want a shift in the leadership of the FDC party.
