The hunt for the killer of city businessman Anthony Mutinisa has taken a successful breakthrough after police arrested a private security guard believed to have carried out the fatal shooting.
Police spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke confirmed that Byaruhanga Hillary, a 28-year-old guard attached to Don World Security Limited, was tracked down and arrested in Kanungu District on Monday. He was found in the company of another man, Akampa Mark, who was also taken into custody.
“The suspect allegedly shot Mutinisa in cold blood on Sunday evening and fled with the victim’s vehicle, registration number UA 769 BQ. The car has since been recovered in Katwe Cell, Kihihi Town Council by our team in Kanungu,” Rusoke stated.
In earlier reports, Mutinisa, 53, a well-known businessman and proprietor of Mutinisa Motors Uganda, was killed at his Ntinda Ministers Village office following what police earlier described as a heated argument with the guard.
Rusoke added that investigations are still ongoing to establish the full motive behind the killing and possible accomplices.
