Music Legend Chameleone to Throw “Legend in Gold” Concert” to Celebrate 25 Years of Music Career

Ugandan music icon Dr. Jose Chameleone, real name Joseph Mayanja, is gearing up for a spectacular concert dubbed “Legend in Gold” at the prestigious Kampala Serena Hotel on Saturday, August 31, 2024. This highly anticipated event marks a significant milestone in Chameleone’s illustrious music career, celebrating 25 years of excellence and dedication to his craft.

The “Legend in Gold” concert promises to be an unforgettable experience, with Chameleone set to perform his greatest hits and possibly some new tracks. Fans can expect an electrifying atmosphere, nostalgic moments, and a testament to Chameleone’s enduring talent and influence in the music industry.

The music doctor is known for his songs like Basiima Ogenze, Mama Rhoda, Bwosaba, Shida Zadunia, Kipepewo, Valu Valu, Befula, Jamila, I Do, Kiboko Yao, Gwenafuna, Maoko Na Maoko, Walisema, Bahati Yangu, Samwa Samwa, Mambo Bado, Badilisha, Kuma Obwesigwa, Tubonge, Nekolela Mali, Sorry, Mama Mia, Bolingo Ya Nzambe, Banana, Wale Wale, Bei Kali, Nzigulira, Forever, Naumia, Agatako, Bomboclat, Pam Pam, Sivyo Ndivyo, and many others.

The concert, which will kick off at 6:00 PM, will see the Chameleone’s fans part with UGX 200.000 and UGX 8.5M tables for eight people to witness a music legend in action and be a part of this historic event.

When asked why he is hosting another show barely a year after his Gwanga Mujje concert, the Leone Island boss clarified,” Last year was a concert, but this year is a celebration of my legacy.”

The 45-year-old music icon is an Afrobeats, R&B, Afropop, Hip Hop, Dancehall, and Zouk, musician. He sings in Luganda, English, and Swahili with some other languages like Kinyarwanda and Shona. He became active as a musician in 1998 in Kenya with the Ogopa Deejays, then a Kenyan record label, which released his first single, “Bageya,” featuring Kenyan artist Redsan.
