President Yoweri Museveni has concluded his campaign tour of the Tooro region with a spirited message centred on wealth creation, infrastructure upgrades, and continued peace.
The NRM presidential flag bearer addressed a vibrant crowd in Kyenjojo District on Tuesday, marking the final stop of his Tooro tour.
Museveni reminded supporters that Tooro’s calm and stability have been the foundation of its progress for decades.

“As long as you continue supporting NRM, peace will be guaranteed. For 40 years, the whole Tooro Kingdom has enjoyed stability,” he said.
The President encouraged locals to take full advantage of government programs that promote commercial agriculture, describing it as the engine of household wealth.

On infrastructure, Museveni injected humour into his update on the long-awaited renovation of the Mubende–Fort Portal road.
“The road from Kampala has grown old, but don’t worry, we are fixing it. The delay came from MPs who didn’t approve funds on time. Even God took six days to create the world. I’m not God! I can’t do everything in one day,” he joked, assuring residents that funding is now secure and the project is progressing.

Museveni also highlighted Uganda’s forthcoming oil revenues, which he said would turbo-charge national development.
“When you support NRM, we ensure tarmacked roads are maintained and feeder roads are funded. The Kyenjojo–Kamwenge road will also be improved. Only a few sub-counties lack electricity, and we’re working on that too,” he said.
District NRM Chairman Nkonge Edward Rwamwaro reported that all parishes are now benefiting from the Parish Development Model (PDM), with Shs 51 billion already injected into Kyenjojo.
“These funds are changing lives. Youth have 30%, women get 30%, and PWDs get 10%. Farmers, livestock keepers, the elderly, everyone is benefiting,” Nkonge said.
He also applauded the district skilling hub, where over 170 learners have so far graduated.
Museveni warned officials mishandling PDM funds, especially those giving money to relatives or charging kickbacks.
“These funds belong to you. Don’t let anyone steal your share. Anyone demanding Shs 200,000 to release Shs 1 million is committing a crime and will be arrested. If your committee isn’t performing, call a meeting and remove them,” Museveni said.
He stressed that PDM funds are meant for all Ugandans aged 18 and above who are ready to engage in productive work.
The President concluded by highlighting job creation as a major NRM achievement, noting that expanding wealth creation naturally fuels employment through factories and agro-based enterprises.
Museveni ended his Tooro tour with smiles, humour, and clear marching orders urging residents to stay focused on wealth and stability as the region positions itself for even greater progress.
President Museveni later addressed another rally in Kibale district as he kicks of his campaign tour of Bunyoro sub region.
He will only Wednesday campaign in Masindi and Kiryandongo districts.
