President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has warned residents of Busoga Sub region against listening to saboteurs of wealth creation programs.
Museveni kicked off his wealth creation tour of Busoga Sub region to asses the implementation of Parish Development Model, PDM on Wednesday, January 22nd, 2025 from Kalamira village Namutumba North Ward Busiki County in Namutumba district.
While touring a model farm of Tolofisa Buwala, a PDM beneficiary, President Museveni cautioned Ugandans to strictly follow his wealth creation strategies if they want to eradicate poverty.
“I come here today to follow up on how my people are working hard to get out of poverty. I cannot accept my people continuing to live in poverty. The government will continue sending more money to every parish in Uganda until all Ugandans are wealthy,” said the president.
The president further advised PDM beneficiaries to invest the money they got from the government wisely, noting the government is considering sending more money to parishes with bigger populations.
“We shall keep on sending more money to benefit everyone. I hear NUP still confusing our people. NUP is finished now,” Museveni said.
Tolofisa received PDM money in 2022, and she has since ventured into Matooke and coffee plantations within her half an acre of land, where she also keeps dairy cows.
President Museveni supported Tolofisa, who is a mother of 14 children, with Shs12 million to buy more dairy cows, Shs12 million to purchase more land, and Shs6 million to buy a motorcycle for her transport, all amounting to Shs30 million.
In her half an acre of land, Tolofisa says she gets Every month she gets about Shs150,000 from Matooke.
Tolofisa is a mother of 14 children (five are still in primary school).
She said before PDM, her children were always being chased from school because of school fees.
First Deputy Prime Minister Rebecca Kadaga, 3rd Deputy PM Rukia Nakadama, and Minister of State for Lands, Housing, and Urban Development, among other leaders from the Busoga Subregion, accompanied the President.
