President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has confirmed the arrest of a notorious commander of the Allied Democratic Force (ADF) terrorist group who commanded the gruesome murder of two British tourists and their Ugandan driver at Queen Elizabeth National Park recently.

Gen. (RTD) Museveni, who is also the Commander in Chief of Defence Forces, said Sunday, November 5th, that three other ADF terrorists from the group of 10 who masterminded attacks in Kasese district recently had been killed by the UPDF marines on Lake Edward recently.

“This is to inform you that one of the killers of the tourists and their Ugandan driver, by the name of Njovu, has been arrested while injured. Three other terrorists have been killed by that group of 10 people who killed the Lhubiriha children, burned the truck of onions, and tried to attack the parked trucks on the Congo-Kasindi side,” said President Museveni in a short message shared via his official X(formerly Twitter) handle.

The president identified the captured ADF commander as Njovu, adding that the hunt for the remaining group is ongoing and will soon yield success.

“The remaining seven are still on the run, but we shall get them. Njovu was their commander. The Njovu group was attacked by the UPDF marine boat on Lake Edward. They did not fully utilise their success after attacking the boat of terrorists. Otherwise, all the terrorists would have been captured. They delayed checking the crippled boat until morning, when the seven had escaped. It was their first time fighting on water. They are perfecting their combat drills,” said President Museveni.
