Her appointment has been confirmed by the Deputy Presidential Press Secretary, Farouk Kirunda on Thursday, December 26th, 2024.

“It’s true that His Excellency, the President, has appointed a new executive director of KCCA in the names of Hajjat Sharifah Buzeki and Mr. Benon Kigenyi as her deputy. Their names have been forwarded to Public Service for formalization,” Kirunda said.

He said when the process is completed, the Head Public Service/Secretary to Cabinet will formally confirm the appointments.

Hajjat Buzeki has been the Commissioner of Human Resource Management in the Inspection Department of the Ministry of Public Service with a renowned record of performance.

Her appointment is expected to immediately restore administrative sanity at the KCCA and chase effective service deliveries amidst stuff political interferences from a section of local leaders.

President Museveni fired three KCCA top bosses, including former ED Dorothy Kisaka, over the Kiteezi landfill incident.

The trio is currently facing trial over negligence of duties that caused massive destruction, including loss of lives.
