Mityana, Kyankwanzi Farmers Get Shs177 Million as Museveni Tours Mubende

President Yoweri Kaguta on Tuesday, 15th April 2025, supported several farmers and the beneficiaries of the Parish Development Model program with more than Shs177 million.

Museveni’s tour started from the farm of Matovu Patrick, a resident of Bugomolwa Central, Bugomolwa Parish, Nkandwa Sub County, in Kyankwanzi District.

Matovu, a PDM beneficiary who ventured into poultry, has now bought a bull. The president supported him with Shs10 million and gave Shs1 million each to 10 other PDM beneficiaries. Shs6 million was given to the area LCI chairperson and Shs1 million to each of the three priests who attended his visit.

President Museveni also supported the Rev. Father Emmanuel Kiyemba, a parish priest of St.’ Joseph Catholic Parish Busunju, Busunju A cell, Central ward, Busunju town council, Mityana South, with Shs100 million.

Rev. Father Kiyemba is an established farmer with 09 dairy cows, 6.8 acres of coffee, and a piggery.

While at his farm, the president also gave the area LCI chairperson Shs6 million to purchase a motorcycle, Shs1 million to each of 10 PDM beneficiaries, and supported the Catholic Church with Shs500 million.

In Mityana Municipality, a 32-year-old beneficiary of the Parish Development Model program received a huge financial boost from President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

President Museveni visited the poultry farm of Christine Wineza, a resident of Busimbi railway cell, East Ward, Busimbi Division, Mityana Municipality. She rears broilers, which she sells after every three months.

Wineza was the third farmer visited by President Museveni, who kicked off the wealth creation and PDM assessment tour of the Greater Mubende on Tuesday, 15th April, 2025.

Museveni commended Wineza for being a committed woman and gifted her with Shs.10 million to boost her poultry farm.

Wineza received Shs1 million from the PDM in 2024, money that she used to procure 100 birds and feeds. She is optimistic about expanding her poultry business with the support from President Museveni.

The President also gifted 10 PDM beneficiaries who had accompanied Wineza during the visit Shs6 million, some two schools Shs6 million, and the area LCI Chairperson Shs6 million.

On Wednesday, 16th April 2025, President Museveni will officially launch the Presidential Skilling Hub, Kibuye Vuga village, Bugonzi parish, Kitenga sub-county, Buwekula county, and later preside over the Greater Mubende leaders’ meeting at Mirembe Maria Catholic Church playground in Kisenyi cell, Bwakago ward, Kasanda town council, Kasanda district.
