A 40-year-old man who had been missing for two days has been found dead in his house in Luweero district.

His lifeless body was discovered hanging by a rope in his sitting room by locals on November 15, 2024.

Initial reports show that Vianey Francis Kafeero, a resident of Serubidde, Luweero district, had been missing since November 13, 2024; however, his body was discovered by his sister Nakafeero Mary and the locals after they broke into his house and found him hanging high up in the ceiling in his sitting room.

According to one of his neighbors, Ronald Bulega, Kafeero had been living alone in depression ever since the burial of his mother three months ago.

Bulega added that the incident turned him into a drunkard and could have forced Kafeero to commit suicide by strangulation.

’’Kafeero was a quiet but loving man. It is so sad that he died in such a manner,’’ Bulega disclosed.

In an interview with journalists, the LC I Chairman Perezi Ddungu said that Kafeero’s neighbors told him that the deceased had been threatening to harm himself or kill himself for a very long time, though no one bothered to talk him out of it.

’’It is so sad that this man has been suffering from depression, drinking a lot, and this might have made him kill himself because he had no one to talk to since he was living alone,’’ Ddungu said.

Ddungu called upon locals to always look out for signs of depressed neighbors and support each other in such times.
