The Minister for Presidency, Babirye Milly Babalanda, has summoned all the Resident District Commissioners and Resident City Commissioners for an urgent meeting.
Others summoned are the deputies, assistant RDCs, and RCCs intending to contest in the 2026 general elections.

A source in the Office of the President revealed that Minister Babalanda’s decision aims at guiding the RDCs, RCCs, Deputies and Assistants who have expressed interest in contesting in the Parliamentary election.
The source confirmed that Babalanda’s meeting will be held on Thursday, April 3rd, 2025, in her boardroom.
Her summon comes ahead of the pending reshuffle in government by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to fill respective vacancies, especially for ambassadors and other lower positions, including the RDCs, RCCs, deputies, and others.
Under the electoral laws, Section 4(a) of the Parliamentary Electoral Act, 2005, any public servant intending to contest in an election as MP shall resign 90 days before the nomination. The resignation date for public servants intending to run for MP is set for June 13th, 2025.
According to the electoral roadmap, nominations for MP will be conducted on September 16th and 17th, 2025.
