SC Villa has appointed Serbian football tactician Milincic Nemanja as their new head coach, signaling a new chapter for the record Ugandan champions as they prepare for the upcoming season.

The club confirmed the appointment on June 20, 2025, describing it as a major step in strengthening their ambitions both locally and on the continental stage.

Milincic brings over 10 years of coaching experience from top European clubs and recently served as the Assistant Coach of the Bulgarian national team in 2022/23.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Milincic to the SC Villa family,” said Club President Hajji Omar Ahmed Mandela. “After a thorough selection process, we are confident that his experience, vision, and passion for the game match perfectly with our goals.”

Milincic holds several top coaching qualifications including the UEFA PRO, A, B, and C Licenses.

Known for his attacking style, strong defensive organization, and focus on player development, he is expected to bring a fresh approach to the team’s structure.

Speaking after his appointment, Milincic expressed his excitement about the new role.

“I am honoured and thrilled to join SC Villa, a club with a rich history and a dedicated fanbase. I am ready to work with the players and staff to build a strong team that can fight for every trophy. I understand the expectations and I’m committed to delivering success,” he said.

The new coach’s first assignment will be to prepare the team for the upcoming pre-season, assess the current squad, and help integrate new signings.

SC Villa finished the current season in sixth place on the Uganda Super League table, having played 32 matches. The team won 12, drew 10.

This new appointment follows the recent exit of former head coach Morley Byekwaso, who parted ways with the club on June 18, 2025, after more than two years in charge. The club said the decision was mutual and in the best interest of both parties as they prepare for a new direction.
