Maverick City Music, Kirk Franklin to Perform in Kampala

Maverick City Music, a renowned American contemporary musical group, and Kirk Franklin, a multi-award-winning songwriter, singer, and choir director, are set to perform in Kampala, Uganda, in August.

They announced their collaboration for the Kingdom World Tour, scheduled for , August 16, 2024, at Kololo Independence grounds.

Maverick City Music and Kirk Franklin aim to bring their celebrated gospel music to the Pearl of Africa, where fans will be treated to unforgettable gospel experiences with their performances.

Maverick City Music has fascinated gospel music lovers worldwide with songs like I thank God, Firm Foundation, Promises, Such an Awesome God, Jireh, Most Beautiful, No Longer Bound, God Will Work It Out, Million Little Miracles, For My Good, The Story I’ll Tell, and many more.

Kirk Franklin, who is renowned for his fusion of hip-hop rhythms with spiritual messages, will perform songs like Stomp, I Smile, My Life is in Your Hands, Love Theory, Now Behold the Lamb, Revolution, Lean on Me, Imagine Me, Brighter Day, and He’s Able, to mention but a few.

According to the duo, the mission of the tour is to pull apart barriers in contemporary Christian music and provide a platform for worship expression.

Maverick City has won several Grammy Awards, which include Best Gospel Performance, Best Gospel Album, Best Contemporary Christian Music Album, and Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song, while Franklin has won 20 Grammy Awards and is celebrated for leading urban contemporary gospel and Christian R&B bands.
