The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party President, Engineer Patrick Oboi Amuriat has said that the party runs under his leadership and Nathan Nandala Mafabi, and nothing more.

He revealed this on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, while appearing on one of the National televisions.

“I know there is one FDC and it resides in Najjankumbi, under the leadership of Patrick Oboi Amuriat and Nandala Mafabi as the Secretary-General,” Amuriat said.

According to Amuriat, what has brought about all the issues in FDC is that everybody is a leader, and they keep expressing opinions about the party, which is not the way it is done.

“The fact is, we have two power houses, one in Najjankumbi and the other in Katonga. Party members do not know who to listen to because the leadership itself is divided,” he added.

He however noted that, the gap in FDC needs to be bridged for the party to survive because they are one.

On the issue of handing the party to NRM on a silver platter and taking money from President Museveni, he pledged to resign if the outcome of the ongoing investigations find him guilty.

“In my entire political life, I have never belonged to NRM. I have shunned meetings with Museveni, so the allegation that we are taking FDC to NRM is unfounded,” he noted.

He emphasized that he has never dealt and is not about to deal with NRM.

All this follows an ongoing fight between FDC Katonga faction comprising of Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda, Rtd Col Dr. Kizza Besigye Kifefe, plus Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, and the Najjanankumbi faction under Engineer Patrick Amuriat Oboi and Nathan Nandala Mafabi, that has escalated into allegations of bribery and acquisition of illegal money.
