Uganda’s longest-serving comedy duo, Madrat and Chiko, will be celebrating 10 years of making Ugandans laugh their ribs off in a show dubbed “Nsekobuseko Comedy Show” to be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel.
Madrat and Chiko, real names Dickson Lubega and Frank Mubiru, respectively, who rose from humble beginnings in Mukono around 2015, came to fame when they came out as the best performers at the Africa Laughs, and since then, they have not looked back as they are now a big household name in the entertainment industry.
Aly Allibhai, the CEO of Talent Africa Group, congratulated the talented duo upon attaining the milestone in the entertainment industry.
“As Madrat and Chiko celebrate this remarkable milestone, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to them. Their ability to connect with all audiences from different walks of life and stay relevant for 10 years is a testament to their versatility, remarkable craft, resilience, and patience. It is only just right that we celebrate them, not for just the 10 years of laughter, but for the huge impact they have had on comedy and the entertainment industry at large in Uganda,” Allibhai remarked.
According to the event organizers, the long-awaited humorous show promises performances from guest artists, musicians, fellow comedians, and an array of influential public figures.
While appearing on a local television, Chiko said that their journey has not been easy, but every challenge faced has made them stronger with the support from their fans, who have been with them every step of the way.
The talented duo is excited to share the 10-year achievement of cracking people’s ribs with their fans, who will part with UGX 30.000 ordinary, UGX 60.000 VIP, and UGX 3M table.
