LWENGO: Mother Beheaded while Breastfeeding Child

25

Police in Lwengo district have arrested five suspects to aid in the investigations of the gruesome murder of a 27-year-old mother as she was breastfeeding her one year old child.

This incident happened in Kiteredde village in Kyazanga Sub County in Lwengo district, and the deceased has been identified as Sadras Ainembabazi, known as the Mukiga of Kiteredde village.

In an interview with journalists on September 12, 2024, SP Twaha Kasirye, the Greater Masaka police spokesperson, confirmed the incident and revealed that five suspects, including Ainembabazi’s husband, have been arrested to aid in the investigations; however, their names have been withheld until police investigations are done.

SP Kasirye added that Ainembabazi’s body was found at the back door of the house lying in cold blood; however, she was first killed from her compound before she was carried to the back door.

‘’The wound on Ainembabazi’s neck was so deep, and she was not going to survive because whoever killed her deliberately cut her neck deeply and left it barely hanging on her body,’’ Kasirye noted.

Kasirye added that the names of the arrested will be released after investigations have been thoroughly done, and whoever is responsible for this gruesome crime is going to face justice.

Kasirye further expressed his outrage and sorrow surrounding the gruesome attack and death of Ainembabazi and the heartbreaking scene of her one-year-old baby found breastfeeding on her body as inhumane and barbaric.

According to Gideon Turyahebwa, the LC I Chairman of Kiteredde village, whoever killed Ainembabazi might have come as a visitor because there was no scuffle where her body was found or even in the compound where she was killed from.
