Lango Province has threatened not to participate in the forthcoming finals for the FUFA Drum Tournament if their demands aren’t fulfilled by the Federation of Uganda Football Association, FUFA.

In a letter dated March 13th and signed by the Lango FUFA drum chairman, the province claimed its inability to participate in the finals after FUFA rejected their request to postpone the match.

Prior to this, the Lango Province had petitioned the FUFA to postpone the match, citing the incapacity of the venue to accommodate their fans.

The province claimed that four of their key players, including Denis Timothy Awany, Moses Aliro Okabo, Rogers Khasim Mato, and Denis Omedi, will not be able to play since they are preparing for the forthcoming international friendly games slated for March 22nd and 26th.

They further claimed that the unexpected window opening to search for new players to play in the FUFA Drum finals, which only benefits Lango and Busoga provinces, is unethical in football competitions.

Lango was slated to face Busoga Province in the finals scheduled for March 23rd, 2024, at the MTN Omondi Grounds, Lugogo, in Kampala.
