The National Unity Platform (NUP) party president, Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine, is set to begin his campaign in the Karamoja Sub-region, with his first stops in Abim and Kotido districts.
While addressing the media at Tembo Trek Courts Hotel in Lira City on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, Kyagulanyi thanked the people of Lira for their warm hospitality and support during his visit. He encouraged them to remain hopeful and united as the country heads toward the 2026 general elections.
“We are heading to the Karamoja Sub-region, and we want to thank the people of Lango for welcoming, supporting, and hosting us during our stay,” Kyagulanyi said.
He also condemned the recent police raid on his hotel room but reaffirmed his team’s determination to continue their nationwide campaign despite challenges.
“As you are aware, police forces raided my hotel room yesterday. They are trying to isolate me by targeting my security team and support system. But we remain steadfast,we shall reach every corner of this country,” Kyagulanyi added.
According to his campaign schedule, Kyagulanyi will hold rallies in Abim and Kotido on October 29, before proceeding to Kaabong, Karenga, Kitgum, Lamwo, Agago, and Pader districts.
As Kyagulanyi takes his message to Karamoja, President Yoweri Museveni of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) is campaigning in Nakapiripirit and Nabilatuk, while Nandala Mafabi of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) is in the Teso Sub-region. Meanwhile, Mugisha Muntu of the Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) continues his campaign in the Tooro Sub-region.
