The National Unity Platform (NUP) Party president Robert Kyagulanyi has asked Ugandans to maintain peace ahead of the year 2025.
Kyagulanyi made these remarks on December, 30, 2024 at his end-of-year address to his supporters and fellow Ugandans at his Magere home.
The NUP president gave a recap of events of the year 2024, and commended Ugandans for their resilience.
He asked his supporters and all Ugandans to have hope and be peaceful in the coming year 2025 as it will be a year for action as Uganda ahead of the 2026 elections.
“For all the Ugandans and those in diaspora thanks for standing strong and don’t give up,’ Kyagulanyi said.
He marked the New Year as a strong and one to learn from the lessons and experiences for 2024 and enter 2025 as a year for turning point for the country Uganda.
“I ask you to remain peaceful and I wish you a happy new year of peace, love and a year of redeeming our country,” Kyagulanyi said.
In his address Kyagulanyi revealed NUP’s readiness to reconcile and work with any party, group or individual who is for change for a better Uganda.
‘We shall work with anybody and everybody regardless of their party or political affiliation and we shall be ready to move forward,” Kyagulanyi stated.
Robert Kyagulanyi’s remarks about reconciliation and working together as opposition comes at a time when few opposition parties are having key members breaking away to form their own political parties ahead of the 2026 general elections.
