Kyagulanyi Rallies Buganda to Lead Uganda’s Liberation Struggle

“For the Baganda, you are the ones to bring change. All other tribes are ready and waiting for you at the source to champion change in Uganda. Your actions and resilience will greatly contribute to the liberation of our country,” Kyagulanyi said.

The National Unity Platform (NUP) party president, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, has called on the people of Buganda to take the lead in what he termed as Uganda’s liberation struggle.

Speaking during a campaign rally in Kanoni, Gomba District, on 3rd November, 2025, Kyagulanyi emphasized that Buganda must be the driving force of change if Uganda is to achieve freedom and democratic transformation.

“For the Baganda, you are the ones to bring change. All other tribes are ready and waiting for you at the source to champion change in Uganda. Your actions and resilience will greatly contribute to the liberation of our country,” Kyagulanyi said.

The NUP leader urged residents of Gomba and the greater Mpigi area to be champions of change and to remain firm amid political intimidation and manipulation.

Kyagulanyi also criticized the Electoral Commission for allegedly reducing his campaign schedule, forcing his team to cover two districts per day instead of one.

While addressing supporters in Butambala, Kyagulanyi criticized the Electoral Commission for reducing on the campaign days, saying his team is now forced to cover two districts per day instead of one. He, however, vowed to reach every corner of the country despite the tight schedule.

“We have very limited time for campaigns. But whether the election is extended or brought closer, we shall still be ready to vote,” he stated. “The president does not want you to vote in time, but you must show him that you will vote, wait until they count, and make sure you secure our votes.”

He further cautioned voters against individuals masquerading as NUP candidates, saying only those officially endorsed by the party should be trusted.

“Some people who once associated with us are now pretending to be NUP. Do not be deceived. Vote only those carrying the official NUP umbrella symbol,” the NUP presidential candidate warned.

“Some leaders you voted last time betrayed you and ate money. This time, every candidate under the umbrella has been carefully vetted and approved. Do not vote anything yellow,” he added.

Kyagulanyi will on 4th November, 2025, take his campaign to Sembabule and Lyantonde districts before proceeding to Kazo, Kiruhura, Isingiro, Mbarara District, Mbarara City, Rwampara, and Ntungamo as he enters the sixth week of his presidential campaign trail.
