The National Unity Platform (NUP) party President Robert Kyagulanyi has held his rally and opened up different party offices in Mukono district, with the police guiding traffic and making sure Kyagulanyi and his team are safe.
The rally took place on May 29, 2024 in Mukono District.
Kyagulanyi, who had been stopped from accessing the districts of Kamuli, Pallisa, Bugweri, and Busia, had his team engage with police bosses at the police headquarters on Monday, 27, 2024, where they agreed on several issues, like organized processions, among others.
Before setting off for Mukono, Kyagulanyi cautioned all his supporters to remain disciplined and abide by the set rules so that the police don’t have an excuse to disrupt their rallies.
“We are setting off for Mukono district, but I want to urge all party supporters to be very disciplined and avoid any kind of confrontation with the authorities so that we are not faulted on anything, “Kyagulanyi said.
The NUP tour will continue on Friday, May 31, with a visit to Masaka City, where NUP supporters are excited and hopeful about the meeting after Mpuuga and Kyagulanyi supporters clashed at a burial in Lwengo.
