The National Unity Platform (NUP) Party President Robert Kyagulanyi has dedicated the newly redesigned party offices in Makerere, Kavule to the fallen comrades who died in the struggle for freedom.

While addressing guests, party leaders, and supporters, Kyagulanyi said that the new offices are to be a command post not just for NUP members but also for all party supporters and all forces of change.

“This is a monument for all who have paid the ultimate price for freedom; today we dedicate these premises to the likes of Yasin Kawuma, John Bosco Kibalama, Ritah Nabukenya, Frank Ssenteza, and many more comrades we have lost in the
struggle,” Kyagulanyi said.

“The fallen comrades may not be with us today, but they are tattooed on our hearts and will always remain with us,” he added.

The party Secretary General, Lewis Rubongoya, said that with the new offices, they have plans to expand and add a studio for the ghetto youths to always go and record and be helped to discover their talent.

“We thank our party president for having offered his land in Kamwokya, which has housed us for the last four years and remains open to us as NUP. We are going to make it a leadership school for our young leaders to pursue transformation classes, and they will be awarded certificates upon completion of these courses, “Rubongoya said.

The official launch was attended by various party leaders on the NUP ticket, party supporters, and other political party leaders, including the FDC, JEEMA, conservative party, and Progressive Party, among others.

The keynote speaker, Dr. Kiiza Besigye of FDC, called upon all members present to remain united if they were to see change in Uganda.

The party offices were meant to be opened on November 2, 2023, but police refused the party leaders access to the premises, citing that the President of Uganda, H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, would be in Kawempe division.
