The President of the National Unity Platform (NUP), Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu, has made a call to foreign investors to review their funding to Uganda.
He made these remarks on September 6, 2024, while addressing the media and the NUP foot soldiers at his home in Magere.
“In several ways, you, friends, have either knowingly or unknowingly sponsored our operations, and we ask you to stop. We want you to review the support you give to dictator Museveni, thinking you are giving it to Uganda,” Kyagulanyi said.
Kyagulanyi noted that the regime uses the investors money to oppress the people with impunity.
“We ask you to review your relationship with Museveni as quick as possible because Ugandans are dying,” he added.
He added that they should hold accountable the security agencies that use lethal and unnecessary force and illegal ammunition against innocent citizens.
“We ask you, the development community, to walk the talk to stop supporting Museveni, whose major occupation is violating international law,” Kyagulanyi stated.
Kyagulanyi’s remarks come after a brawl on August 3, 2024, at Bulindo, which left Kyagulanyi wounded after a canister went off, causing him a few injuries on both legs.
This event, however, has sparked a lot of controversy on social media due to the events surrounding the incident.
