Kitara Football Club has reinstated Kasozi Deo as Club President, marking his return just months after he voluntarily stepped down from the role in June 2025.

The announcement was made public on 3rd October, 2025 at a press conference held at the Grand Imperial Hotel in Kampala.

Former Club President and current executive member, Dennis Musinguzi, confirmed that the executive committee unanimously agreed on Kasozi’s return to ensure stable and effective leadership.

In his address, Kasozi emphasized that his new term will prioritize the sustainability and long-term development of the club.

“My focus is to build a solid foundation that ensures Kitara FC continues to thrive both on and off the pitch,” he said.

Kasozi previously served as Kitara FC President for three years, during which the club achieved significant milestones including promotion to the Uganda Premier League, winning the Stanbic Uganda Cup, and securing high-value sponsorship deals with Jonard Conglomerate and Kinyara Sugar Ltd.

Following his departure in June, the club appointed ASP Gilbert Nyaika, Vice President in charge of Administration, as Interim President. Under Nyaika’s stewardship, the club successfully regrouped and launched its campaign in the 2025/2026 Uganda Premier League season.

As part of the reshuffled leadership, former President Godfrey Bamwenda has assumed the role of Vice President in charge of Fans Mobilization, strengthening community engagement efforts.

The new executive leadership team includes: Hon. Brian Kaboyo – First Vice President, Gilbert Nyaika – Vice President, Administration, Bernard Kanyoro – Vice President, Finance, Godfrey Bamwenda – Vice President, Fans Mobilization, Bernard Isoke – Vice President, Technical, Dennis Musinguzi – Executive Committee Member and lastly Eng. Jonard Asiimwe – Club Patron

The club’s Secretariat continues to be led by CEO Joshua Atugonza, who also sits on the Management Committee.

Kitara FC also recently secured a UGX 100 million main shirt sponsorship deal from Kinyara Sugar Ltd, further boosting the club’s financial standing as it eyes continued success in domestic and regional competitions.

The club’s leadership expressed optimism that with Kasozi back at the helm, Kitara FC is well-positioned to build on past achievements and solidify its place among Uganda’s football elite.
