The Kiira Motors Corporation’s (KMC) subsidiary E-Bus Xpress has embarked on sensitizing local communities of Jinja city, Iganga, and the neighboring districts in the eastern region of Uganda.

The sensitization campaign comes after the company launched the subsidiary E-Bus Xpress system on Sunday, November 24, 2024, in Jinja city, with the aim of introducing cashless payment.

According to Kiira Motors, E-Bus Xpress is an all-electric and modern mass transit vehicle in the country where its mass transportation services are safe, clean, and reliable for both passengers and goods, ensuring passengers experience an internal travel feel and reach their destination on time.

“Our team is in the eastern region of Uganda to sensitize residents about the new electric public transportation service; therefore, public engagement will ensure people are informed about the E-Bus Xpress service, including its routes, schedules, costs, and benefits,” the company stated on its X handle.

Residents transiting from Jinja-Iganga experienced a new era of all-cashless, electric, and modern mass transit from Jinja to Iganga on Sunday, November 24, 2024.

“I’m in heaven,” one of the passengers said as they boarded the E-Bus Xpress.

Another passenger was quoted saying, “These electric buses offer spacious seating, and standing areas are comfortable for commuting.”

The E-Bus Xpress management noted that “the era of delays with public transport is over,” with dedicated arrival and departure schedules where travelers will be guaranteed to arrive at their destination in real time.

According to Kiira Motors Chief Executive Officer, Engineer Paul Isaac Musasizi, “The future is green; the future is now,” as the E-Bus Xpress service uses Kayoola EVS electric buses, which produce no harmful emissions, providing a quiet and smooth ride.
