The police have launched an investigation to ascertain the circumstances that led to the murder of a driver with Khan Logistics, a private company in Kampala.

The deceased has been identified as Adaca Sabina, also known as Alele Francis, a 36-year-old and a resident of Kyebando Kisalosalo Zone.

ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police spokesperson, said the incident occurred on the evening of April 10, 2024, in Kyebando Kisalosalo Zone, Kawempe Division, Kampala.

“At approximately 19:30 hours, the deceased was allegedly intercepted by an individual identified as Achol, a security guard with SGA Security Company and a resident of the same area. Adaca Sabina was shot around the chest while on the phone, attempting to exit a corridor,” ASP Owoyesigire said.

He added that preliminary findings revealed that the assailant fled the scene with the weapon, leaving Adaca in a pool of blood.

“It has been alleged that Adaca Sabina was involved in extramarital affairs, which may have contributed to this unfortunate incident. However, it is imperative to allow the ongoing investigation by the authorities to uncover all relevant facts and motives surrounding this heinous crime,” ASP Owoyesigire added.

The scene of the crime was promptly secured by law enforcement, where thorough documentation and the collection of evidence were conducted. The body of the deceased was transferred to the KCCA mortuary for a postmortem investigation.

The police appealed to anyone with information related to this incident to come forward and assist the authorities in their investigation.
