Kedrace Turyagyenda Appointed New PS for Ministry of Education

Turyagyenda holds a Doctorate in Education Management from Nkumba University, Uganda; a Master of Science Degree from Leicester University, UK; a Bachelor of Science Degree; and a Diploma in Education from Makerere University, Uganda.

Kedrace Turyagyenda has been appointed as the new Permanent Secretary (PS) for the Ministry of Education and Sports, replacing Ketty Lamaro.

The new reshuffle was announced on Monday, September 23, 2024, by the Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Museveni, and confirmed through a congratulatory message from President Museveni.

“I congratulate Dr. Kedrace Turyagyenda on her appointment as the new Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Education,” she posted on her x.

The former Permanent Secretary, Ketty Lamaro, was dropped by the president during a reshuffle of Permanent Secretaries, prompting the recruitment of Jane Egau Okou, the undersecretary, to serve temporarily in the capacity of the position.

Turyagyenda was formerly serving as the Director of Education Standards in the Ministry of Education and Sports.
