Kapeeka Trade Show, being held in Nakaseke District, at the Kapeeka Industrial Park, is a premier industrial exhibition aimed at promoting Uganda’s industrial sector and showcasing Ugandan products.
Abraham Lincoln Angee, sales and marketing manager at NEC AGRO LTD, a business majoring in agriculture machinery and technology, agriculture produce and supplies, dairy products, and poultry farming, said the show has helped to market their products and showcase Ugandan capabilities and products.
“These exhibitions have helped to display our products from various sectors, Angelee said.
He further added that the event has helped to bring together manufacturers, entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers to explore opportunities, share knowledge, and drive innovation.
Norah Kembabazi, a local manufacturer and director of Ghee Body Cream Limited, who ventured into turning raw cow ghee into body cream, said that such trade shows have helped her market her product, a unique cosmetic that doesn’t contain chemicals but rather uses natural ghee.
“We prepare and remove the natural scent from the ghee, and it becomes body cream. This cream is good for bodies that are sensitive to other manufactured body creams and jelly,” Kembabazi said.
She added that this has helped her to earn and pay school fees for her three children as well as meet other household necessities.
Today, Friday, September 27, 2024, the Kapeeka Industrial Park, a hub for business and networking in Nakaseke District, opened for the annual trade show, which will be running until Saturday, September 28, 2024. It was organized by the Uganda Investment Authority (UIA), Uganda Manufacturers’ Association (UMA), and the Nakaseke District Local Government.
Among the industrial sectors showcasing their products at the trade show are food processing, textiles and apparel, ceramics and glass, electronics and electrical, metal fabrication, wood and furniture, and chemicals and pharmaceuticals.
