KAPATU to Enhance Transformation, Social-Economic Growth in Karamoja Sub Region

The Catholic Lawyers Society International (CLASI), shall be launching Karamoja Peace and Technology University (KAPATU) on Friday, July 28, 2023, with an aim of developing education methods that will bring mindset and behavioral change.

The ceremony will be held at Losilang Catholic Parish, Kotido Catholic Diocese, Kotido District, Uganda.

In a press statement released Thursday, July 20, 2023, Severino Twinobusingye, the President of CLASI, noted President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will be the chief guest.

“The Chief Guest will be His Excellency Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, President of the Republic of Uganda,” he noted.

He said that the key strategic objective of the university is to identify the root causes of cattle rustling and increased number of street children.

“The key strategic objective of this university is to identify the root causes of cattle rustling and the growing phenomenon of street children, and to develop educational methods that bring about mindset and behavior change so as to find a sustainable solution to enhance transformation and social economic growth in Kararmoja sub region in particular, and the Great Lakes region in general,” Twinobusingye said.

He further invited all key stakeholders, diplomatic missions, members of academia, political leaders, religious leaders, cultural leaders, friends, benefactors, well-wishers, media, and the public to this historical momentous occasion.
