Police in Kampala have arrested a 30-year-old man for allegedly sodomising and defiling two juveniles.

SCP Fred Enanga, the police spokesperson, has identified the suspect as Deo Mutabazi, a resident of Bunamwaya Division.

It’s alleged that the suspect reportedly defiled and sodomised two male juveniles aged 11 and 12, respectively.

SCP Enanga said that a week ago, the suspect reportedly invited the two victims to his room, lubricated their anuses with oil, and sodomised them.

“Concerned neighbours alerted the parents to the victims, who tipped the Defence Secretary, LCI, of the area, who responded immediately,” Enanga said.

He added that during the arrest, the suspect was also found with two other male juveniles, aged 10 and 13, seated on a bed with lubricated anuses, pending sodomy.

“The suspect was charged with aggravated defilement and indecent assault,” Enanga added.

According to the police, the offence contravenes Section 145 of the Penal Code Act.

“Any person who has carnal knowledge of any person against the order of nature shall be guilty of a felony and shall be liable to imprisonment for life.”

Sexual offences against male juveniles are on the rise, according to the police.

Police noted that sexual abuse against young boys and teenagers clearly reveals the dangers they face in the community.
