The government has completed the upgrade of Nsumba Health Center III in Kalisizo sub-county in Kyotera district.
Dr. Edward Muwanga, the Kyotera District Health Officer, said the facility was upgraded at a cost of Shs1.4 billion.
Dr. Muwanga, who recently inspected the structures at the facility, said it will soon be opened to the public for usage.
He said the facility built with support from the World Bank has modern medical facilities, including a maternity ward, a laboratory, and a theater, among others.
According to Dr. Muwanga, the facility will employ 55 workers, both medical personnel and support staff.
Mary Nabasumba, a resident of Nsumba Village, applauded the government for the new health center, saying it will save them from walking a 15-kilometer distance to Kalisizo Hospital to access medical services.
