Justice Lawrence Gidudu, the Head of the Anti-Corruption Division, has urged participants to develop strong customer care practices because a court without litigants is useless.

The Registry of Communications and Public Relations was conducting a customer care engagement for staff of the judiciary from Wakiso Chief Magistrates’ Court, Kakiri, and Bujuuko Magistrates’ Courts.

Gidudu made these remarks on Monday, August 19, 2024, while facilitating a session on the impact of corruption on customer care and service delivery in the judiciary at Wakiso Chief Magistrates’ Courts.

He emphasized the significance of creating a client-centric culture and urged participants to establish solid customer service procedures.

“You need customers. A court without litigants is a useless court. We should focus on building customer loyalty and retention. Customer care is not just about attending to customers, but attending to them on time,” Gidudu said.

“My purpose is to draw your attention to the people we serve. Put them first, understand their needs, and how to address them, respectively,” Gidudu added.

Additionally, Gidudu emphasized the value of maintaining open communication and encouraged the practice of management by walking around.

Gidudu, however, observed that chaotic and unsupervised situations are breeding grounds for corruption, noting that when supervisors take charge, corruption is less likely to occur.

His presentation covered a wide range of topics, including corruption, customer care, common forms of corruption in courts, the impact of corruption, client-centric culture, and customer value, satisfaction, and loyalty, among others.

HW John Francis Kaggwa (Wakiso Chief Magistrate), HW Evelyn Najjuko (Senior Magistrate Grade One Wakiso), HW Happy Monica, and HW Frank Kwesigabo (Magistrates Grade I Wakiso), as well as administrative staff attached to Kakiri and Bujuuko courts, were in attendance.
