The Judiciary has transferred 28 judicial officers at the ranks of Registrars and Magistrates and two new Magistrates Grade I as part of continuous efforts to improve judicial efficiency and service delivery.
The changes which take effect immediately, aim to address staffing gaps and ensure equitable distribution of judicial resources across the country.
In a press statement issued on Monday, March 17, 2025, Chief Justice Alfonse Chigamoy Owiny-Dollo welcomed the decision, emphasizing its role in a dressing staffing gap and ensuring that justice is delivered efficiently.
He urged the transferred officials to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in their new stations.
“Let people see and feel the Justice we have committed to delivering under the new judiciary,” he said.
Acting Chief Registrar Pamela Lumunu Ocaya explained that the transfers were carefully planned to optimize resource utilization while maintaining system integrity and efficiency.
She highlighted Her Worship Prossy Katushabe’s redeployment from the Judicial Training Institute to the High Court and the assignment of three Deputy Registrars to key registries.
“Her Worship Angualia Moses Gabriel is now in charge of the Inspection of Courts, Her Worship Bucyana Lillian now moves to the Judicial Training Institute as in charge of the Registry while Her Worship Agnes Alum takes on the Registry of Magistrates Affairs and Data Management,” Lamunu said.

On December 1, 2024, the Judiciary deployed 25 newly appointed judicial officers and transferred 45 others to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery across various courts nationwide.
