ISO BOSS URGES RDCs AND DISOs TO ADOPT REVOLUTIONARY METHODS OF WORK

The Deputy Director General of the Internal Security Organization (ISO), Lt. Colonel Emmy Katabazi, has today afternoon, May 29, 2023, called upon Resident District Commissioners (RDCs), Resident City Commissioners (RCCs), Deputy District Resident Commissioners (DRDCs), Deputy Resident City Commissioners (DRCCs), and District Internal Security Officers (DISOs) to embrace revolutionary methods of work to cause permanent change in the country.

Lt. Col. Katabazi made these remarks while presiding over the meeting held at Miika Eco Resort Hotel in Hoima during a two-day capacity building workshop for the RDCs, RCCs, and DISOs from Bunyoro and Rwenzori subregions in western Uganda.

On revolutionary methods of work, Afande Katabazi asked DISOs and RDCs to work together to deliver on the various government commitments.

The intelligence chief further told the officers that a revolutionary must know that nothing is permanent and that things change.

He tasked them with reading relevant materials so that they could be knowledgeable about the prevailing dynamics that can cause change in society.

Lt. Col. Katabazi urged officers to struggle and update themselves on information that will guide and preserve the revolution.

Lt. Col. Katabazi warned the DISOs, RDCS, and RCCS about environmental degradation, especially charcoal burning, deforestation, and swamp reclamation.

“The president has been very clear on the issue of environmental degradation, and please take note,” Katabazi warned.

Afande Katabazi further warned against the corruption in the district service commission and asked the DISOs and RDCs not to keep quiet and defend the corrupt.

“We have been given resources; let’s do whatever it takes to fight corruption in our areas of jurisdiction.” Katabazi Noted.

In his concluding remarks, Afande Katabazi urged DISOs and RDCs to work hard and not shame H.E. the President: “You should make your districts model districts and make it hard for the President to transfer you”. Katabazi added.

From the officers present, DISO Ntoroko, Mr. Kisembo Sally, said that, “Our challenges are being addressed, and if we continue like this, we shall be able to deliver on the government’s promises.”

Bandeba Festus Apuuli, the RDC Kabarole, said that the workshop has been practical, spot-on, and timely.

Nakaye  Kabonge Catherine, the Deputy RDC for Bunyangabu district, appreciated the organizers of the workshop. ” We do appreciate the opportunity for capacity building, and so far, so good. It has been so educational, and we are already benefiting from it.” Catherine added.

The objective of the workshop is to build the capacity of the officers to be able to monitor and evaluate government programs so that they are well implemented to benefit the communities.
