How I was Deceived by My First Love’s Appearance

Love is a strong emotional feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection that people share. As they say the first cut is the deepest, Christopher is a victim of this after he met Angela while he was on holiday in Uganda. He had just finished his bachelors degree in Computer Science at the University of Sydney in Australia.

Christopher came back to enjoy the Christmas season with his family and then later return to Australia where he had got a job.

Few weeks before he could return to Sydney, Christopher had a drink up with his old boys at Casablanca Bar in Mukono district, where the boys called their female friends who joined the group and it was a fun filled night.

As Christopher narrated, among the girls who were invited, there was a girl called Angela who caught his eye. She carried herself so graciously, and was brown with medium size, heavenly eyes, luscious lips and curvy hips.

“Her beauty and grace took my breath away. I had taken a long time without seeing such an embodiment of beauty. Angela captivated my heart,” Christopher narrated.

He told his friend Joshua who seemed closer to her that he wanted Angela for a girlfriend and Joshua advised him to try his lack, however, with caution that he doubted it was a good choice.

Christopher revealed that, he thought to himself that may be, Joshua wanted her for himself. As the night went on, they were able to engage in a conversation that Angela too found Christopher charming. She at times could dodge some of the straight questions that he asked her, acting to be shy. This made Christopher even want her more.

“She bit her curved lips, sandwiching it between her canines before responding to me. May be it was because she was nervous about my straight forwardness,” he said.

Christopher said that he asked Angela for a dance and they danced together all night as he whispered sweet nothings in her ears. The next day, he invited her for lunch and they met at Colline Hotel in Mukono district.

He said that they would meet everyday for about two weeks before he went back to Sydney. On the day of Christopher’s return to Sydney, Angela escorted him to the airport in company of two of his friends.

He was sure he had met the girl of his dreams and wanted to marry her as soon as possible. She still had one semester to finish her degree.

On arrival, Christopher said that he called Angel and they agreed that they would talk every evening. This went on for some weeks until Angela returned to her old self.

Her phones started being out of reach. He thought that may be she was busy with her coursework, or reading for tests and final exams.

Christopher then decided to call Joshua and ask if his girlfriend was okay. He told him that she was fine and that infact that they had been together the previous evening at Asingya bar and restaurant in Seeta. He asked Joshua why Angela’s phones were always off. He told him that he had no idea and re-assured him that she was not the right girl for him.

“How could I believe that the graceful girl I had met was not what she appeared to be. Could an angel break my heart? No,” he said.

Christopher said that Joshua told him that Angela had other men in her life and that probably since he was not in the country, she had time for the available guys. This information hurt him but he thought that may be his friend was jealous. He ignored what his friend had commented about his girlfriend and kept his plan to make Angela his wife.

Christmas season came, and Angela picked Christopher from Entebbe Airport. They decided to make their relationship official since she had now finished school. In the first week of January 2010, he was introduced to her family and one week later, they tied the knot at St. Andrews Church in Bukoto.

He later on went back to Sydney but would visit Uganda after every three months. By the end of 2010, they were blessed with a baby girl who brought them so much joy. Two years later, they were blessed with another baby girl.

However, as time went by, he started hearing rumors that his wife was having an affair with a certain man and that she would entertain him in his home late in the night. At first, he refused to believe because he loved and trusted his wife but then remembered his friend’s words and needed to find out the truth.

Christopher revealed that one day, he decided to come back home without informing neither his wife nor family and friends. When he arrived at the airport, he checked into a hotel for days as he monitored his wife’s movements.

On that fateful evening at around 1:00 am, Christopher said that he decided to go home. He received a shock of his life after he caught his beloved wife red-handed in bed with a one Simon, the same man he had been warned about.

He immediately ran out, and called Joshua who agreed to meet him at his hotel and told him his ordeal. Joshua was not surprised at the news because he knew Angela’s character of not settling with one man.

“Old habits die hard,” Joshua said.

Christopher asked for divorce and custody of his two daughters which was granted to him by court. He took his daughters with him to Sydney and has since lived there with them and re-married a white woman with whom they have a boy child.
