Zamalek Sporting Club of Egypt successfully defended its title during the 2025 African Women Volleyball Inter-Club Championship, demonstrating its supremacy in African women’s volleyball.
Zamalek’s triumph marks a historic hat-trick of titles, having also emerged champions in 2023 and 2024.
They overcame their rivals Al Ahly, sealing a 3-1 (29-27, 22-25, 25-20, 25-22) victory on Sunday, April 13, 2025, in Abuja, Nigeria, to retain the coveted crown.
In a high-level encounter played in Abuja, it lived up to expectations, with both Egyptian giants showcasing elite-level volleyball skills.
In the first set, Zamalek displayed resilience and tactics in the face of the aggressive Al Ahly, winning it 29-27. However, Al Ahly clawed back to claim the second set to level the game 1:1.
Zamalek regrouped and took control of the third and fourth sets with solid blocks and powerful attacks that kept their rivals on the back.

Earlier, the bronze medal match saw Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) deliver a commanding performance to clinch third place.
The Kenyan side overpowered Tunisia’s CF Carthage in straight sets (28-26, 25-14, 25-18).
