Heritage singer Ray G, real name Reagan Muhairwe, has shut down the Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala as he filled the grounds to the brim on Friday, May 10, 2024, during his concert.

Ray G thanked his fans for the enormous support, saying that when he had his first concert, it was after lockdown and that he has shut down Lugogo this time around.

“Thank you so much for the support and love. To my sponsors, these fans are my biggest sponsors. There was a time when we had a lockdown, but today we have shut down this place,” Ray G said.

While expressing his solidarity, singer Eddie Kenzo said that, though he was not feeling well, he was happy that Ray G pulled off such a crowd, adding that he is no longer a regional artist but international because he has talent.

At around 9:30 PM, Ray G came on stage amidst shouts and excitement and took the fans through several of his songs before going off the stage for a break.

The Deputy Speaker of the Ugandan Parliament, Thomas Tayebwa, thanked the revelers for supporting Ray G in large numbers.

“Good people, thank you for supporting our child. This is enough. Let us continue with the fan,” Speaker Tayebwa said.

He had several musicians show up for his concert, like Pallaso, Nince Henry, Levixone, Spice Diana, T-Paul, and Megaton.

The Member of Parliament for Buhweju county, Francis Mwijukye, also commended the fans for the massive turnout and paid money for the show to continue till morning.

“Ray G is a great musician. They have been undermining us, but we have now shown them our potential. We have done a good job and chased them out of town to Kulambiro. I have paid one million shillings for us to enjoy up until morning,” MP Mwijukye said.

The 31-year-old talented R&B, Zouk Raggae, and acoustic guitarist took his fans through his songs like Omusheshe, Yoya, Forever, Nkaronda, Make a Way, Owangye Omwigarire, Eizooba, Ringaaniza, Live Love (Oro’ta), Iteeka, Enshazi, Eshoro ya Rukundo, Nuunu, Mureebe, Mwami, Mareika, among others, and ended with Forever, which he sang twice. The show ended past midnight (at 00:35 AM).
