The government has maintained that the country is safe in spite of the recent escalating terrorism threats.

Rukia Nakadama, the 3rd Deputy Prime Minister, while responding to concerns from legislators during the plenary session held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, in Parliament, said security has embarked on various operations to contain the situation within the country.

Nakadama noted that the Security Minister will soon present a detailed report to Parliament regarding the recent bombs planted by suspected terrorists within Kampala City.

She further cautioned opposition leaders against politicizing the war against terrorism.

“We won’t be listening to Enanga alone anymore because I learned from him, so let the minister come and deliver a report and instruct us on how to live. As a nation, we need to be led,” said Speaker Anita Anet Among.

She commended security for their swift response in foiling terror attacks at Rubaga Miracle Centre Cathedral in Kampala on Sunday.

This follows the interception of a terrorist who had disguised himself as a churchgoer and placed an explosive device (IED) at the main entrance of Miracle Centre Church in Kampala.
