The former Uganda National Students Association (UNSA) Secretary for Ntungamo district, Goldmea Keigoshora, has promised to advocate for equity resource distribution in several Team University study centers. She pledged this while she campaigned for elections to the university’s Guild Presidency in 2024/25.

Keigoshora addressed her maiden rally at the Ntungamo Center on Saturday, May 4, 2024, where she pledged for equity and proper accountability in the Guild office.

“I want a university where resources are effectively distributed and efficiently put to use. I want a government that enhances everyone’s abilities, from sportsmen and women to academic talents, from arts and performances to scientists. I am seeking equitable development throughout Team University. My government will not tolerate any kind of discrimination or corruption,” Keigoshora said.

She thereafter headed to other campaign areas, including Bwanga, Rukungiri, and Mitooma, among others. According to the source who was part of the campaign trail, wherever she made a stopover to address her rally, business was brought to a standstill while her supporters chanted her campaign slogan, “Gold for Guild,” as she spoke and waved to them.

Her presence in Mitooma attracted huge crowds as her convoy meandered through Kashensero town. She was received with a triumphant entry as the eagerly waiting students cheered her on Sunday afternoon.

Keigoshora vowed to become a voice for the many unheard voices, improve and promote students’ innovations, and hold her office and the university accountable to protect the rights and interests of students.

The Guild aspirant said that they’re now headed to a cross-country drive on other campuses as they wait for voting day due on May 18, 2024.

From record, UNSA has occasionally produced formidable leaders whose ground rooting from student leadership irons out perfection into several national leaders, with the most current figures being Aber Lillian, the Minister of State for Disaster and Preparedness, and Phiona Nyamutoro, the Minister of State for Energy and Minerals Development.

Team University is a private, co-educational Ugandan university with its main campus located in Kampala and several other learning centers across the country. Keigoshora’s bid for the highest student’s leadership office will see her preside over all the learning centers if she beats her competitors, who have yet to put in their bids, according to a source.
