Property worth millions of shillings was destroyed at Kisubi Girls Primary School in Entebbe Municipality when a fire gutted a dormitory on Wednesday morning, October 25, 2023.

ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, says several properties were destroyed during the incident.

“We are relieved to report that no injuries or loss of life were recorded, as all pupils had safely evacuated the dormitory before the fire ignited. Regrettably, all items within the dormitory were lost in the blaze,” said Owoyesigire.

He adds that police firefighters were able to swiftly put out the fire.

“Our dedicated team of investigators is diligently working to uncover the circumstances leading to this incident. We are committed to establishing the precise cause and ensuring the safety and security of our educational institutions,” said Owoyesigyire.

According to Owoyesigyire, police in Entebbe are investigating the cause of the fire outbreak.
