The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Party-Najjankumbi based faction is set to discuss the fate of their members currently involved in the activities of the Katonga faction in the forthcoming National Council.

This was announced by the FDC party Deputy President for Eastern Uganda, Margaret Wokuri Madanda while addressing journalists at Najjanankumbi, the party headquarters in Kampala on Monday, December 11, 2023.

Madanda said that, the National Council slated for December 15, 2023, will first ascertain if those involved in the mobilizations at Katonga are still party members before they can be referred to the disciplinary committee, including Col (Rtd) Dr. Kizza Besigye who is a life member of the charge.

Regarding the ongoing mobilization by Katonga faction, Madanda said that it’s illegal and asked FDC members to shun it.

According to Madanda, FDC Najjanankumbi faction is willing to reconcile with the Katonga faction which is apparently loyal to Besigye.

“During the National Council, the party will also conduct structural filling in some 30 districts that did not participate in the October 6th Delegates Conference,” Madanda said.

FDC Katonga faction is currently involved in forming the grassroots structure across the country.
